and in other news...

I've not just been a hermit locked away quietly working away on the book, I've been working on a number of other projects, workaholic springs to mind!

I was honoured to be asked by one of my very best friends to design her wedding invitations which were such a lovely little project to create something for someone's most special day. Luckily she loved them and the day was wonderful! I've been kept quite busy with special occasions of late, creating bespoke gifts and illustrations as presents for people's friends and family. Which is something I am eager to do more of and I am thinking of offering this as a new Laura-Kate Draws service.

This year's Art Crank in London urged me to finally get back into the screen printing studio to make a new print especially for the exhibition. It was so much fun to get my hands dirty and I can't wait to get back in there and start printing up some Laura-Kate Draws canvas bags and T-shirts-watch this space...

A business venture I have been developing over the past few months is a new series of Art and Craft markets called "Capstan's Bazaar". The markets are being held monthly on the 1st floor of LEAF Tea Shop on Bold Street in Liverpool city centre and our launch event  was last month. I was overwhelmed with the talent of our stall holders and the turn out of the event. Fingers crossed for the next event being held this weekend on the 9th October, if you're not doing anything get down for a brew and rummage in our Aladdin's cave (well more of an ornate attic) of handmade treasures...
